PraxisCAD for macOS
One universal app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs. macOS 12 or later.
First launch: 3 steps
macOS blocks apps that are not yet signed. Do this once and it opens normally afterwards.
- Open the .dmg and drag PraxisCAD to Applications.
- Open PraxisCAD. When macOS says it cannot verify the app, click Done.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, click Open Anyway, then confirm.
PraxisCAD for Windows
A standard installer for 64-bit Windows. Windows 10 (version 1809) or Windows 11.
First launch
The installer is not yet signed with a publisher certificate, so Windows may warn you.
- Run the installer.
- If SmartScreen shows a warning, click More info, then Run anyway.
PraxisCAD in your browser
Nothing to install and no sign-in. A Chromium-based browser gives the best experience.
What you get
- Open STEP and PraxisCAD files, view, measure and section, edit parametric parts, save and export.
- Install it as an app from a Chromium-based browser. It works offline after your first visit.
- Your models stay on your computer. Autosave recovers unsaved work.
- The AI assistant, assemblies, drawings and DXF are in the desktop app.
Do I need an account or an AI subscription?
PraxisCAD needs no account and adds no AI charges. Bring any MCP-capable AI client; its pricing and connection requirements are separate. Without an AI client you can still model by hand.

How do I check my download?
Each installer has a SHA-256 checksum. Where the release publishes it, it is shown under the download button as “File details”. Compare it with the value your system reports for the file.
What about Linux, Android and iOS?
There is no desktop app for Linux, Android and iOS. The browser version works in their browsers.
